The Challenge
Manual Payout Processes Impeded Growth
Symphonic Distribution, founded by producer and DJ Jorge Brea, aims to assist independent musicians in distributing their music and ensuring proper compensation. Initially, the company managed royalty payments manually, which was feasible with a smaller client base. However, as the client list expanded to over 100,000, representing more than 500,000 artists worldwide, manual processes became a bottleneck, limiting scalability and increasing the risk of errors. Symphonic Distribution wanted to find a solution that automated monthly royalty payments to clients globally, improved KYC (Know Your Customer) initiatives, ensured client data security, and streamlined tax-data collection and royalty sharing.
We serve hundreds of thousands of clients—some in other countries, who need payment in local currency—and we’re paying them each month for earnings across 200 streaming platforms. That’s difficult enough, but when we added SplitShare, where every payment might be distributed to many collaborators, finance automation became a must-have.
